TRANSLATION AGENCY over 20 years experience
Modern publishers and authors publish texts of different styles and contents: from literary and poetic works, to technical and scientific ones, essays and journalistic, educational and informative texts, disseminated on traditional or digital paper media. Our agency provides translations and editorial adaptations in every area and for multiple purposes; in almost 20 years of publishing activity, the Lipsie team has handled the translations of over 2,500 works. The languages with which we operate are mainly Italian, English (in the US and UK variants), French, Spanish and German, but we have also translated books from Russian and Chinese. The wide-ranging textual repertoire to be translated - novels, essays, articles, encyclopedias, series, yearbooks, instant books, magazines, brochures, guides and catalogs - is proposed to us by publishing houses, authors and editorial consultants. Our wealth of experience has allowed us to understand and integrate the different facets of the publishing industry panorama, the challenges, the daily dynamics and the future prospects.
Our editorial team consists of a network of 50 specialized translators. Their work is systematically perfected by the intervention of valid proofreaders, adapters, editors and nomenclature managers. For the translations of essays, novels and literary poetic publications, we stick to the style of the individual authors, with whom we establish a close and dynamic dialogue throughout the translation project of their work.
Our editorial translation services are complete and their costs include, in addition to translation, also the correction of drafts and nomenclatures in hard-copy and electronic format, before their publication. We systematically apply all general and specific editorial rules (guidelines) (e.g. Palgrave Macmillan), the punctuation rules of the main European and Asian languages.
We provide text layout services dedicated to professional publishing (Adobe InDesign, Quark XPress, Freehand with multilingual support) with creation/conversion of pdf files for high-resolution printing and those of digital layout (ebook) aimed mainly to authors who wish to self-publish.
